Happy Go-Lucky! & Kria Brekkan

I just saw the film Happy Go-Lucky at the Sunshine cinemas on Houston st in nyc. Please go see this film. It is infectiously delightful. Sally Hawkins deserves all the praise it is receiving. (and Mike Leigh, too) She plays the giddy, clubbing elementary schoolteacher, Poppy. Her almost awkward jubilation reminding me somehow of the real person, Kria Brekkan. I just located, in its entirety (and separated by track) a download of a concert that I saw her perform at the Lutheran Church of the Messiah in Greenpoint, here. (You may know Brekkan from the band Mum, or from the collaberative (backwards) album she did with her husband, Animal Collective's Avey Tare.)
